Almaty – Tiger Mountains (300 km). along the Koktal - Saryozek highway. Not far from the city of Zharkent.
Plan:
- 06:00 Departure from Almaty to Bassy village, 240 km.
- 09:00 Arrival at the eco-park in Bassy, buy tickets.
- 09:30 Trip to the Singing Dune (60km off-road)
- 11:00 Visit to the Singing Dune
- 12:30 Lunch in nature, or in the guest house
- 13:30- 14:30 Trip to the Katutau mountains, excursion.
- 16:00 -17:30 Aktau Mountains, excursion.
- 18:00- 22:00 Road to Almaty

These mountains are no exception. And their mysterious and amazing stripes are also the work of Nature itself. Each of the lines is made of multicolored clay, so it was nature that gave them such a bizarre striped color that people immediately dubbed them "Tiger".
However, the mountains also have an official name — Dolantau. And geographically, these are not even mountains, but highlands, beyond which lies the even more ancient Cretaceous Katutau ridge with its highest point at 1720 m. But you can't get close to it from the Tiger Mountains – you need to give a circle and enter the Altyn-Emel National Park, the one in which the famous Singing Dune "lives".
Here, on the Saryozek – Koktal highway, you can observe only an incredible striped beauty that stretches in front of you for a whole 16 kilometers.
