    We spent a great day!
I had a great experience with my guide, Gulzat. She is very polite, kind and caring person. She replied me very quick any time. I came to Almaty from Japan alone. I was a little bit nervous before but I was very relieved by her support. She invited me to a nice riverside lunch on the way to Big Almaty Lake. I had an amazing afternoon. The lake was beautiful ....
Charyn Canyon is a beautiful natural attraction located in Kazakhstan, in Central Asia. It is part of the Charyn National Park and is often referred to as the Grand Canyon of Central Asia because of its fascinating history and stunning landscape.

The canyon stretches for more than 80 kilometers along the Charyn River, and its deepest point reaches 300 meters. The rock formations in the canyon are incredibly diverse, with different colors and shapes that have been formed as a result of erosion over millions of years. The most famous of these formations is the Valley of Castles, which is a series of towers and spires resembling a medieval castle.

The canyon of such impressive size is a popular place among tourists and outdoor enthusiasts. Here visitors can go hiking, set up camp and even go rafting on the Charyn River. There are also several specially designated viewing platforms that offer stunning views of the canyon and its unique rock formations.

While the outer beauty of the Charyn Canyon is undoubtedly breathtaking, the inner beauty of the canyon lies in its unique ecosystem and rich biological diversity. The canyon is home to a diverse flora and fauna, many of which are endemic to the region.

The vegetation in the Charyn Canyon is incredibly diverse, more than 1,500 plant species have been registered in this area. This includes rare and endangered species such as the Charyn saxaul, a type of desert tree adapted to extreme temperatures and arid conditions. The canyon is also home to several types of wildflowers and grasses that bloom in spring and summer, creating a colorful and lively landscape.

In addition to its plant life, the Charyn Canyon is also home to many animals. The canyon is an important habitat for several endangered and rare species, such as the Turkmen eagle owl, blue-moustached vulture and bearded vulture. Other species found in the canyon include foxes, wolves, and several species of rodents and reptiles.

The canyon also has cultural significance for the local Kazakh people who have lived in this region for thousands of years. They have developed a unique lifestyle that is closely related to the natural environment of the canyon, including traditional cattle breeding and the use of natural resources for food and medicine production.

Charyn Canyon is a must-visit place for everyone who visits Kazakhstan or Central Asia. Its natural beauty and enchanting relief make this place truly unforgettable. Without a doubt, you should not miss the opportunity to enjoy and memorize this place!
